Sobre o Kantha
At Kantha Galo ecology is not only a theme for speeches on political correctness but, it is real and it can be seen in its full and single detail. Palaphita Kitch was created under Amazonian inspiration and it is based on bio-architecture. Our aim at KG is to take our environmental solutions to a new level of creativity that can be seen in unique scenery that recalls the navigator’s universe, fully conceived and executed within the principles of eco-design, without any conventional civil architecture.
The kiosk was built with recycled material, which was produced from the reutilization of residues, as well as disposable material reused with creativity to fulfill our aims. 100 reais notes unusable by the Denver Mint were transformed into ecological boards by Eco-Woods and also used in flower-stands, decks, at the bar counter, at the napkin holder bottom as well as in ashtrays. Recycled toothpaste tubes were turned into 6 millimeter plates, which were used, in the covering of the walls, sofa boat -like, table feet, table cover boards as well as in the menus. Boats, trolleys,carts and even a crane were created from material taken from dumps found in factories, scraps and from the town rubbish dump.
We have also extended sustainable solutions to the use of energy. The greatest example is the electric car - Agix Flex Car, produced in Rio de Janeiro, which is used for the disabled free transportation, as well as in the supplementary security of Parque do Cantagalo. Its batteries are charged by the wind energy, which is captured by an air generator Enersud from Eólica Rio. The excess feeds 12 volts bulbs, which help to lighten the place. Incandescent bulbs are not used at Kantha Galo.
Not only do the solar plates heat the kitchen water, but they also lead the way to the glass, aluminum, plastic, milk cartons, paper and cardboard recycling. Moreover, our environmental purpose evolves biodegradable detergent use as well as less abrasive cleaning products in the market, from briquette to environmental friendly firewood, and from the reutilization of the rain; of the organic rubbish that is transformed in fertilizer and serves as nutriment to our flower-stands by grinding and composting.
However, none of these diminishes the light of Kantha Galo ecological star, which is, Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas .
